Happy 5 Months!

I can't even believe Kyleen is 5 months old today... even more alarming is that I have to head back to work so soon! It is amazing how drastically my priorities have shifted since this love bug has arrived in my life. I love teaching, and as my bf, Tara, reminded me, the anticipation of going back will be way worse than actually doing it, but regardless I am still wishing for time to freeze right now!

A lot of 'firsts' for Kyleen this month, although most of them have happened just in the past week or so. She can successfully sit on her own for a few minutes at a time (disclaimer: if she's in the mood). Naps are now regularly in her crib (not the swing) and mom is finally not freaking out when she sleeps on her stomach, so she is a happy camper. Big changes when it comes to eating and drinking! We busted out the high chair and although she looks ridiculously tiny in it, she loves sitting up at the table with us. She just tried cereal this past week and loves eating from the spoon! Not so sure how much is actually getting down her throat but an accomplishment nonetheless. We have been trying to get her to drink a few ounces of apple juice a day to help the whole digestive system :) but she still is not a huge fan. She shudders as it goes down! We tried the sippy cup but still a lost cause at this point. We put her swing up in the backyard and although she was hesitant at first, she really seems to like it now. And good news... we found two new toys this month... her feet!

Here is our little one from 4 to 5 months!

Gerber baby ad, no?

Sitting up!

Watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, her favorite

Gotta love those toes!

Oh man, I'm in love!

And so it begins... poor Indy

Such a big girl... note that I am literally jamming the sippy cup in at this point

The nervous face quickly gave way to smiles :)

  1. She's grown so much in the last month! Crazy! At this rate, she will be walking in the blink of an eye!
