Oh how blessed we are. It is amazing how much adding a newborn to the mix changes everything in your life, yet feels so utterly perfect you can't imagine life another way.
We arrived at the hospital bright and early (5:30am) for my 7:30 planned c-section. Everything was going right on track, in fact they were planning on taking me early at 7:15. At 7am, just minutes from heading back to the OR, they came in to tell us there was an emergency c-section that needed to happen ASAP, and I was going to have to wait until 9am. Do-able, right? Well about an hour went by and more bad news. The c-section was taking longer, and due to Dr. Kohatsu's schedule and other circumstances, I would have to wait until 3:30pm. Ugh. Not that waiting in a hospital for 8 hours didn't already sound ideal, but to make the day even more fun, I started going into labor on my own around 9am. The contractions were pretty regular throughout the day though very manageable. By 2:30 though they were pretty intense and coming fast. I was NOT a happy camper. I got cranky with the nurse and told her I needed drugs or confirmation that my Dr. was in a car on the way to the hospital. Luckily, Dr. K was in route, and they took me back at 3:30. At 3:58pm we welcomed our Carson to the world!

Enduring the contractions that I should NOT have been!
Our little man took a few minutes to get his breathing under control which was enough to majorly stress his momma out... thankfully after a few minutes he started screaming very loudly!
Carson and Dr. Kohatsu. I SO wish I had this pic from when Kyleen was born!
First picture as a family of four.
Such the little man.
By day 2, Kyleen seemed much more intrigued by her little brother.
I melt.

Heading Home!
Despite the rough day of waiting for him to arrive, we got to leave the hospital on Wednesday morning and have all been doing great since! Recovering from this c-section has been TONS easier than number 1.
Was giddy with excitement to take him home!
