Happy 5 Months!

I can't even believe Kyleen is 5 months old today... even more alarming is that I have to head back to work so soon! It is amazing how drastically my priorities have shifted since this love bug has arrived in my life. I love teaching, and as my bf, Tara, reminded me, the anticipation of going back will be way worse than actually doing it, but regardless I am still wishing for time to freeze right now!

A lot of 'firsts' for Kyleen this month, although most of them have happened just in the past week or so. She can successfully sit on her own for a few minutes at a time (disclaimer: if she's in the mood). Naps are now regularly in her crib (not the swing) and mom is finally not freaking out when she sleeps on her stomach, so she is a happy camper. Big changes when it comes to eating and drinking! We busted out the high chair and although she looks ridiculously tiny in it, she loves sitting up at the table with us. She just tried cereal this past week and loves eating from the spoon! Not so sure how much is actually getting down her throat but an accomplishment nonetheless. We have been trying to get her to drink a few ounces of apple juice a day to help the whole digestive system :) but she still is not a huge fan. She shudders as it goes down! We tried the sippy cup but still a lost cause at this point. We put her swing up in the backyard and although she was hesitant at first, she really seems to like it now. And good news... we found two new toys this month... her feet!

Here is our little one from 4 to 5 months!

Gerber baby ad, no?

Sitting up!

Watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, her favorite

Gotta love those toes!

Oh man, I'm in love!

And so it begins... poor Indy

Such a big girl... note that I am literally jamming the sippy cup in at this point

The nervous face quickly gave way to smiles :)

Happy Birthday Will!

Cousin Will is one! We just got home from a fun afternoon celebrating our favorite William's first birthday. His 'crabby' pool party was adorable... helps to have event planner Erin for a mom. :) Kyleen was tuckered out after her first party as seen below! We can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with our buddy Will!

Adorable desserts and favors!

Will loving all eyes on him and the singing!

Not too sure about this whole cake thing.

Party's Over!

Crazy girl!

While this may look like irresponsible parenting, it is just our little one being silly. She LOVES to arch her back and be upside down... apparently the world is much cooler from that view!

Lunch at the Park

The cool summer may be bumming out those of you at the beach, but those of us in Poway are LOVING the 75 degree perfect weather days. We are becoming quite the regulars at Old Poway Park these days. On this day, we walked over with Casey for lunch and relaxing!

They are too cute checking each other out.

Kyleen is determined to hold Casey's hand. She goes straight for it every time she is with him. Not so sure Casey is into girls yet :)

LeVier Camping

We spent last weekend at our annual family camping trip with the LeViers (my mom's side) up in Idyllwild. It was a fun weekend catching up with family and a whole lot of eating! Kyleen's first camping adventure... well, we stayed at a nearby inn rather than tenting it with a 4 month old, but trust me when I say we were still 'roughing' it at this classy establishment. :) My cousin Bret and his wife were out here from Arkansas on vacation with their two little ones... so fun getting the 4 great-grandkids together for the first time!

1st family camping trip

Spending time with Uncle Frankie :)
Quite possibly the best-timed baby picture in the world, thank you Ro Spooner!

Camping fun... games, cards, and of course bags

The next generation... Lydia, Lexi, Kyleen, & Casey

I will spare you the many takes it took to get this picture. 4 sets of eyes= successful photo!
