Bed Head

Kyleen's hair seems to be growing at a rapid speed, and the "do's" she wakes up with impress me daily.

9 Months, finally...

A very delayed 9 month update... for starters, it happens to be the busiest time of the year, and secondly, the pictures were so terrible I was in no rush to share. She refused to sit still, and was crazy with the sign from the moment I put her down. To top it off, she woke up with an eye infection that morning, so don't call CPS on us, even though she appears to have been punched in the face. With that...enjoy our crazy girl! :)

A Few of My Favorite Things...

If Kyleen had a list, the dishwasher would definitely be towards the top.

Are you talking to me?

My Reader

Could I be more happy to see my peanut loving books?!? The girl won't sit still for much these days, but put a "good" book in front of her and she'll flip through it for a solid few minutes, which in Kyleen's world is an eternity. Her favorites these days seem to be these teeny Sesame Street books...

Santa Claus is Coming to Town...

We are loving experiencing all of the holiday magic with Kyleen! It gives a whole new meaning to the season. We took Kyleen to see Santa this past weekend, and to be quite honest, I was a little nervous. Kyleen is at that age where she A) hates strangers and B) typically hates all men (except her daddy of course). Not a good combination for the man in red. Thanks to Tori's GREAT insider tip we headed over to the Carlsbad Forum Shops... visiting Santa is free, you take your own pictures, it's so not crowded, and most importantly the Santa looks like the real guy! Santa had me sit on his lap with her at first (despite my attempts to refuse)- he definitely looked nervous to hold her. When I finally did put her on, she was SO serious, as you can see below. I couldn't get her to crack a smile for the life of me. She did great for a few pics then realized we weren't holding her. She absolutely lost it when she turned around to see Santa, but not before we had captured the moment. Here is our little elf...

Getting ready to meet the big guy

Way to be paying attention Santa- the ONE picture I actually got a smile!

Kyleen is checking out her crazy mom- notice the clapping hands

Merry Christmas!

So Much To Be Thankful For...

It goes without even saying that we feel beyond blessed this year. The gift that God has given us in Kyleen is more than we could have ever imagined. Kyleen's Thanksgiving was pretty nontraditional in that we spent it in Palm Desert. A few spontaneous decisions ended with my family (minus the Tim Spooners) cooking our turkey dinner in a hotel at the Shadow Ridge Marriott. It was so amazingly relaxing to have NOTHING to do but be lazy, hang out with family, drink wine, and eat good food. Kyleen was a riot the whole weekend, having a blast exploring her new surroundings. Our Thanksgiving morning brought an extra treat with the discovery of Kyleen's first tooth... finally!

The best family pic we could get out of her

A little 'leakage' during nap time meant a quick rinse before dinner. She's got her eye on that turkey!

Silly girl!

Kyleen's 1st Thanksgiving Dinner... add in mashed potatoes and butternut squash from the big kids table :)

Fun pics from the rest of our time there...
